Congratulations on your engagement! No, not that one. It’s interesting to note that the numbers are dropping. Less people today are opting to stay uncommitted than those who were getting hitched during our folks’ time, or our grandparent’s era, depending which generation you fall under. Now, I’m not giving my age away, but interestingly enough, I do not qualify as one of the many millennials or generation X’s that may be glancing through this post tonight.
And after an extremely long engagement, lovely girl by the way, I’m quite happy to mingle a lot more than I used to now that I am committedly single. No, the engagement I was referring to is that effort you put in on your social media platform. And if you’ve picked out Instagram as your main sounding board, clever choice by the way, then you’re going to have to be a lot more committed to engaging with your platform visitors and future followers.
Speaking of which, this is what my short post is all about. It’s all about how to get more followers on Instagram talking positively about you. And in order to get that right, this post needs to pinpoint a couple of practical things you need to do on your end. Top of your list should be active engagement, not just on your superb platform but particularly on others. Your positive contributions to their platform could be like a magnet or the perfectly sticking glue to keep them intact and engrossed on the work you’re pushing through on your platform.
Most of the work you’re doing on Instagram is visual. So, you’ll be looking to take fine pictures that will act as active attractions for your audience, like the colorful sunflower attracting the local busy bees to its pollen. Also, you’re going to be a tad cautious with all the free Instagram filters at your disposal. Don’t get carried away, cramming them up with junk you don’t need. Only select those filters that will make practical sense to your business.
And you’re going to be pretty busy on your Instagram platform if you want to stay engaged with your audience. Instagram customers in general are looking out for some level of regularity and consistency. So, if you’re going to be one of those lazy once in a while folks who only post on a whim, as in once every other week, you can forget about it. Instagram subscribers are not going to be hanging about waiting for your next post.
Congratulations then on entering the portals of one of the most competitive and busiest environments ever.
Because that’s just the thing about Instagram. More and more businesses are choosing to spend a proportionally higher amount of time and focus on using the Instagram platform to market, advertise and promote their businesses or social or personal causes.
What does active engagement mean to you? I for one see it as a rewarding enterprise going forward. And I’m a guy who enjoys being single.
